As the Social Media and Online Campaign Consultant for Curve Communications, it’s my job to come up with solid social media strategies for our clients. Sometimes that strategy involves a contest.
I’m here to tell you, When you see a contest on social media and you think, “Gee, I’d love to win that prize!” – ENTER IT.
On Wednesday, I will be jetting off to Las Vegas (flights paid) to stay for 3 nights (hotel paid) and participating in the Sin City Sprint, all thanks to Expedia Canada.
No, Curve Communications is not affiliated with Expedia Canada in any way. In fact, unbeknownst to me, my husband entered the contest.
All he did was click “like” on Expedia Canada’s Facebook page and provided the contest app with his name and number.
To paraphrase, the rest will very soon be history.
Facebook is an incredible resource to reach your target audience. With Facebook Advertising, promoted posts and just general use, you could be reaching thousands if not millions of potential customers. A contest is a great way to pull people into your orbit! You certainly don’t have to provide the winner with a trip, but an incentive gets people’s attention.
Try to tie the prize into your industry, or go with something simple like a gift card to a local eatery or show.
You can advertise on Facebook for as low as $1/day, so let’s do the math:
$1/day x 30 days = $30
$50 gift card
By spending $80 for one month, you could potentially get hundreds or thousands of dollars in revenue from your new customers, who found you through Facebook Advertising.
Worth a shot, no?
